"LATE" FOR MOM'S DAY, DAVID ST. ROMAIN ON TO MEMORIAL DAY

CMT Pure Adds "Twenty Years Late" Video; No. 1 At GACtv.com

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Aria Records Nashville artist and Nashville Star finalist David St. Romain is in the holiday spirit. Coming off of Mother's Day and the extraordinary reaction to his single "Twenty Years Late," St. Romain is turning his attention to Memorial Day and his former compatriots in military service.

Few things are as pure as a mother's love, as David acknowledges in his latest single, which received tremendous attention over the Mother's Day weekend. One endeavor that measures up is the willingness to sacrifice on behalf of country, a commitment that's recognized each year on Memorial Day.

For David, that's not an abstraction. A former member of the Louisiana Army National Guard, he served honorably with men and women who willingly put themselves in harm's way on behalf of their fellow Americans. "My brother was in the national guard, so it was an obvious choice for me," he explains. "Our parents couldn't afford to send me to college, so the Guard was a way to take that step."

Interestingly, music played a role in St. Romain's service. "I had a commander who was great and really believed in me," David says. "I only spent two years in the Guard before he put me on Individual Ready Reserve status so I could pursue my music. Part of why I have so much passion for the military is that I never had to go on a hardship tour and all my buddies did. So playing shows and being there for service members is my way of giving back."

Last year, St. Romain had the chance to play for a unit deploying to Afghanistan at the behest of then Lt. Governor and current New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu. He's also played for the Louisiana All-Veterans Reunion.

In other David St. Romain news, "Twenty Years Late" has been added at cable network CMT Pure. The clip is already No. 1 on GAC's gactv.com.
